Before I get to the other updates of our 28 week appointment today let's start with the most exciting...
We had our 3D/4D Ultrasound done and what an amazing experience it was! Seriously everyone should have one of these done. The tech was so thrilled with all the hair she could see the baby already has and she said if she can see it already, on an ultrasound that there is no doubt our little one will have a full head of hair when born. She also said the baby is about 3 pounds [a few ounces above average] and measuring about 29 1/2 weeks instead of 28 1/2 which is what I am. When she measured the head she said it was perfect size and when she got to the stomach she called our baby chunky-- so cute!! Our little one was also sucking and blinking a ton and loved it's hands in it's face. My fluid levels, placenta and umbilical cord all look fantastic. The heart rate was 156 and it's head is down
with it's body on my left side, bum towards my ribs and feet at my right
side.
Since it was my 28 week appointment I also had my blood drawn for gestational diabetes after drinking my orange Glucose drink which was basically melted otterpops.
And finally we met with the doctor again and he said we should name our little one Surprise :) followed by the fact it would be a better name for a girl. Dr. Wosley did say he has a hunch on the baby's gender- the opposite of his first child- that is all he would tell us. The appointment ended by the Doctor saying my weight gain, baby's heart-rate/position/size, my blood pressure and all other factors are resulting in a continued A+ pregnancy!
YAY! what a cutie already :) Hair? I guess if it's a girl I need to get some pink sponge curlers so she can be just like her momma...So fun, thanks for sharing! mom
